On Friday we dressed as some of our favourite book characters. Luckily the rain stopped just in time for our parade.

Book Character Day
Siapo making
On Friday we were busy making siapo. We used pva glue to raise the surface of our designs. Then we rolled printing ink on and lay our tapa cloth over the top. Next we rolled very the cloth with a dry roller and the pattern transferred on to the cloth.

Tapa
Today Riley brought in some Tapa cloth for us to look at. We recognised the square pattern that signifies the central beam that holds up the house of the Tongan king. We also thought that maybe one of the other symbols might be the sun or a star and another symbol reminded us of the breadfruit tree.

Paris' Weekend
We played on the tramp and my brother did a back flip. I did a forward flip and a cartwheel with no hands.
Then we had the cake. After that we had dinner and next we had the wedding. I got to be the flower girl. When they put on the rings they were married. After the wedding we came back to Wellington.

¡Ay, caramba!
Come to the Fun Food Fiesta at 5pm on Friday and you can vote for Room 14's Santa piñata. We will celebrate his short life in the last week of school and Room 14 children can bring little treasures to fill him with at that time.
